Insya Allah, I will be going home after completing my PhD. Alhamdulillah, the viva examination (oral) was great! It was really challenging to provide a comprehensive answer based on my research. The viva session took only 30 minutes. What a relief!
I submitted on 29 Sept 2008, which means 3 years and 4 months, alhamdulillah, just sharing, no intention to boast. Yet, I did enjoy the waiting process. Besides, I discovered myself expecting another baby before submission. Masya Allah!
Looking back, it seemed like yesterday I started this long journey, I started my study leave on 19 May 2005, and alhamdulillah, rezeki, we managed to enjoy business class as it was informed the price was the same. We reached Manchester Airport after almost 13 hours in flight. I might say that I was totally sleepy. We were picked up by an English driver who drove us to Stoke-on-Trent, where we met our Tok Penghulu. Abang Fauzi & Kak Sai. We were really impressed with their hospitality as if we were old friend. Tne next day, we move to a larger house- belongs to a Pakistani named Mr. Ali. The early days in Stoke was gloomy and miserable. Not only the conditions of the house worsened the situation but homesick..huhuhu..well, that was in the past!! Now,I am counting the days to go back for good. I have started packing since I have submitted my thesis. The viva was held on 11 December 2008- a few weeks just before Christmas. Time to have a long break!
